Common Calculation Questions
What's the difference between percentage increase and percentage of?
• Percentage of: "What is 20% of 100?" = 20 (finding a portion)
• Percentage increase: "100 increased by 20% is what?" = 120 (adding a percentage to the original)
How do I calculate a discount?
For a 25% discount on R200:
Method 1: Calculate discount amount (25% of R200 = R50), then subtract (R200 - R50 = R150)
Method 2: Calculate what you pay (75% of R200 = R150)
